Fuerza Unida's mission is to educate, empower and organize workers to become advocates for social change, organizers for economic justice and full participants in the democratic process. Our purpose is to advance the rights of women, workers and low-income communities by providing education, training, guidance and accessible information so that they may protect their rights and those of their families and communities. We are rooted in the struggle for systemic change in the workplace, communities, and environment of workers and women locally, and reach out to our compañera/os worldwide. Through our collaborations with organizations and instititutions, we build a united force, una fuerza unida, that emphasizes the voices of people of color, women, youth and immigrants within the working class.
Since 1990, our journey has given us both the challenge and opportunity to become resourceful human beings and community based leaders. A life long lesson that we, the women of Fuerza Unida, have obtained and continue to teach is that organizing is key to creating solutions and implementing change for low/moderate income, working class women and communities. This is why we proceed to think and act both locally as well as on a global front since we acknowledge that we are part of a larger social movement and civil society. We work to address long-term institutional change by taking direct action and expanding community control over economic, social and environmental decisions affecting our community's sustainability.
Nuestra Mision
nuestra solidaridad a compañeras y compañeros
